Butler County Parole and Probation
Missouri Department of Corrections, or MODOC, supervises people assigned by circuit courts, the Missouri Parole Board, and Interstate Compact processes. Probation is a court order. It may begin without a prison term. Parole follows release from state prison after a discretionary Board decision. Conditional release also follows prison, but it comes from Missouri's sentence structure and remains subject to Board authority. Both parole and conditional release leave the person in MODOC legal custody while living outside a prison.
A release from the Butler County Justice Center on bond is not parole. Bond permits a pending case to continue while the person is out of the jail. A court may later order probation, but the jail release alone does not establish that status. Likewise, transfer from the Justice Center to MODOC is not a community release. The receiving state system controls the later custody and supervision record. The MODOC Division of Probation and Parole is the official source for the state supervision framework.

Verify Butler County Post-Release Supervision
Begin with identity and custody type. A county-only detainee may never have a MODOC record. A probationer can have a state supervision record without any prison release, while a parolee usually entered supervision after state confinement. Use the full correct name and DOC number or date of birth when known. Match the assigned place and status instead of relying on a name alone.

- Read the result closely. An assigned prison indicates custody. A probation, parole, or conditional-release status can indicate active community supervision.
- Contact the assigned office. For a Butler County assignment, ask District 25 in Poplar Bluff to confirm whether supervision is active and what public status applies.
- If the active search returns nothing, check the nightly MODOC Sunshine data for past involvement, then ask MODOC or District 25 about final status.

Butler County District 25 Supervision
District 25, formally the Poplar Bluff Community Supervision Center, is Butler County's local MODOC point. It serves assigned probationers, parolees, conditional releases, and other supervision cases. It is not a jail or prison. Staff do not maintain a Butler County booking log, bond list, or local released-inmate feed. Their role begins when a court or MODOC assigns a person to state community supervision.

A dated office brochure lists weekday hours, but current hours and reporting directions should be confirmed by phone before travel. Ask only for public categories. MODOC identifies confirmation of supervision, supervising officer and office, present offenses, sentence and judgment, county, supervision term and conditions, custody or bond, parole or conditional-release date, and a Board release decision as open categories, subject to law.

District 25 Verifies Butler Supervision
Butler County has a useful local verification route that many statewide searches do not make obvious. An active MODOC result can be taken to District 25 for context. Give the DOC ID, full name, and date of birth if known. Ask whether the Poplar Bluff office is assigned, whether the public status is probation, parole, or conditional release, and whether a listed date is a release date or the end of supervision.
This distinction matters. A parole date can mark the start of community supervision. It is not the same as final discharge. A supervision expiration date may come much later, and early discharge can alter it. District 25 can also direct an inquiry to the actual assigned office if the person lives in Butler County but is supervised through another district. Do not assume residence and office assignment always match.

Butler County Parole Hearing Checks
The Missouri Parole Board does not publish a name-searchable hearing calendar or decisions database. Its schedule is sentence-driven. Eligibility, a hearing, a Board decision, a presumptive date, parole, and discharge are separate milestones. None should be described as an actual release until MODOC records the custody change.
For a confined person, note the DOC ID and institution, then ask the institutional parole office or caseworker about the individual schedule. For a supervised person, use the assigned P&P office. MODOC's public-information inventory supports requesting a Board release decision. A registered MOVANS participant may also receive a hearing or decision notice, but MOVANS is not a public Board-results archive.
The official parole-hearing process says a decision may set another hearing or a future release date and gives an estimated decision period. That estimate is not a release promise. Conduct, rescission procedures, holds, and release planning can still affect a later date. Section 217.690 supplies the Board's authority and eligibility framework.
A hearing date also differs from eligibility. Eligibility allows the Board to consider a person; the hearing reviews conduct, adjustment, completed programs, and other relevant facts. The result may deny release, set another hearing, or establish a future date. Preserve the decision wording and confirm any later custody change with MODOC.
Butler County Absconder Status Checks
MODOC says its Command Center works with law enforcement on absconders, but no official public statewide name-searchable MODOC absconder or warrant list was located. A missed meeting, rumor, or blank offender-search result does not establish absconder status. The term reflects an agency determination that a supervised person has left supervision.
Ask the assigned officer or District 25 whether supervision is active and whether a public status can be confirmed. A warrant is a separate legal instrument. Court entries or law-enforcement confirmation may be needed. MOVANS can report return to custody while on parole, but a notice must be read exactly. Transfer, return to custody, and release are different events.
How Butler County Supervision Ends
Supervision can end through sentence expiration, a court action, a Parole Board discharge, or an authorized early discharge. MODOC defines early discharge as final release from probation, parole, or conditional-release supervision before the scheduled expiration. Earned Compliance Credits may affect eligible cases under RSMo §217.703, but the law has exclusions and no result should be calculated from a web page alone. The supervising officer is the proper contact for a specific credit question.
Under RSMo §217.730, parole time generally counts toward service of the sentence, and the Board may issue a final discharge or certificate. The statute's timing language is not a universal promise because the sentence may expire sooner and other law may control. Ask for the exact status and effective date.
Once MODOC records final discharge, the person is excluded from the ordinary active search. Preserve any prior result, court order, Board decision, and notice with its source date. Then use the historical Sunshine data and direct MODOC confirmation. That chain is stronger than treating absence as proof.
Butler County Supervision, Not Prison
Butler County contains a MODOC community-supervision location, but no verified state prison. The difference changes the search route. District 25 tracks assigned people after or instead of incarceration. It does not show who is housed in a prison, who left the Justice Center today, or whether another agency accepted a transfer.
A prison result belongs to the statewide MODOC custody path. A District 25 assignment belongs to community supervision. A Butler County jail record belongs to the Sheriff. Keeping those custodians separate prevents a county transfer from being called parole and prevents an active probation record from being described as proof of a prison release.
